ReSound Sensia

ReSound Sensia is a premium hearing aid family that combines automatic environment classification, four-microphone beamforming, and AI-powered noise reduction to help you focus on the person you're facing while staying aware of the world around you.

ReSound Sensia

We're pleased to offer ReSound Sensia at Kalady Audiology in Beaufort, SC, a new premium hearing aid family from GN Hearing designed to help you hear the person you actually want to hear, not simply the loudest voice in the room.

Intelligent All-Around Sound Processing

Many AI-powered hearing aids can emphasize the wrong voice or even mistake background music for the sound you want to hear. ReSound Sensia addresses this with Intelligent All-Around, an automatic sound-processing system that combines three technologies:

  • AcoustIQ classifies your sound environment and determines which features to engage
  • A binaural four-microphone beamformer, which uses microphones on both hearing aids together, gives preference to speech in the direction you're facing
  • DNN denoising, powered by a deep neural network, reduces competing speech and other distractions around the person you're listening to

Together, these technologies are designed to lift the conversation you're trying to follow while preserving lower-frequency sound from around you, so you keep a natural sense of where sounds are coming from.

Built Around Where You Look

Sensia relies on a simple, natural cue: people generally look toward the person they want to hear. To manage noise, it switches automatically between DNN denoising for difficult speech-in-noise environments and ReSound's established Noise Tracker II system for situations dominated by non-speech sounds like a fan or vacuum, where a speech-trained AI can introduce unwanted sound artifacts.

In GN-reported testing, Sensia made the frontal talker most audible for 80% of participants and showed 91% accuracy in classifying the listening environment. These are manufacturer-cited results that measured which talker was most audible rather than word recognition, so they are encouraging but should be weighed alongside your own real-world experience.

Small Design, All-Day Power, and Working Auracast

Despite its added processing, the rechargeable microRIE keeps the very small size of its predecessor, ReSound Vivia, and is rated for at least 24 hours of use, with up to roughly 30 hours depending on usage. Sensia is also available in other receiver-in-ear and custom in-ear styles, though the full automatic Intelligent All-Around system is found in the Sensia 9 microRIE, and custom models do not include DNN denoising at launch.

Connectivity includes Bluetooth LE Audio and Auracast, which is fully functional at launch rather than awaiting a future update, allowing you to select public broadcasts in venues such as theaters through the ReSound Smart 3D app.

Is ReSound Sensia Right for You?

ReSound Sensia is worth considering if your biggest challenge is following a specific person in restaurants, gatherings, and other busy settings, and you want a small rechargeable hearing aid with working Auracast connectivity. That said, the right hearing aid depends on your hearing test results, ear anatomy, and listening needs.
